Nova provides young people with an opportunity to learn and have enriching experiences delivered in a personalised way.
Nova is underpinned by the trauma informed approach with small ratios and well trained and motivated staff. This gives learners a key adult experience needed to allow young people to heal and grow.
Colleagues are experienced with various forms of neurodiversity found in learning and provide everyone with the opportunity to shine and to fulfil their potential.
Our belief is that the right environment enables everyone to work towards their personal academic goals as well as develop the skills needed for a successful life.
Nova supports young people to connect and engage with the next phase, such as school reintegration or transition to further education or work.

Therapeutic Approach
We understand that what came before can shape the person we are today; all experiences, whether they be good or bad, will leave a lasting impression.
We have well trained staff who work alongside the individual. at their pace, to unpick and heal the past. Helping with reframing or understanding and adjusting to the experinces which may have shaped them.
We use a number of techniques to acheive this, including equine assisted therapy, sound baths and nature as aids to healing alongside simply offering time and space to talk.
Personalised Learning
At the heart of everything we do is our personalised approach to the individual.
We work with the referring school and partners to ensure a collabrative approach. We consider where the learning journey started, where we are now and what is to be achieved. From this we are able to design a learning journey which will allow everyone to succeed at their own pace with the very best support.
Nova is run and delivered by qualified and expeinced teachers.
Cultural Capital
Nova offers a number of enriching experiences to our students. We spend time exploring the world around us with nature walks and activities at site in Lydeard St Lawrence and exploring the Quantock Hills.
Regular trips to museums and other culturally significant sites are available. We tap into the interests of our young people with individualised topic work.
Transition and next steps
What is our destination? Transtion and next steps are vital to understand and motivate us.
We work with our students and stakeholders, such as the referring schools, work experience placements and colleges to offer an opportunity to re-engage or manage a transition plan.
